Our school board is dedicated to fostering an environment where every student can achieve academic excellence and personal growth in a safe and supportive setting.

As elected representatives of our community, we are committed to making informed decisions that shape the future of our schools. Our responsibilities include:

  • Policy Development: Crafting and implementing policies that promote high educational standards and equity.
  • Budget Oversight: Ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to support student learning and well-being.
  • Superintendent Supervision: Collaborating with and providing oversight for the Superintendent to ensure the district's strategic goals are met.
  • Curriculum and Instruction: Evaluating and approving curricula that meet the diverse needs of our students and prepare them for future success.
  • Facilities Management: Overseeing the maintenance and improvement of school facilities to provide a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Community Engagement: Encouraging active participation from parents, students, teachers, and community members to foster a collaborative educational community.

All are welcome to attend school board meetings either virtually or in person.

In Person: Meetings are held at the District Office located at 6540 Wentworth Springs Rd, Georgetown.
 

Join Virtually: All regular board meetings are broadcast online via Google Meets. The link to join will be posted on the posted agenda.

Meet the Board Members

 

Andrea Dodson, President

Trustee Area 1

Andrea Dodson is a local business owner in real estate and insurance who has served on the board for 4 years. Driven by parent advocacy, transparency, and district culture, Andrea is committed to bringing fresh ideas and collaborative solutions to improve education and support students. A proud local resident, she enjoys camping, gardening, and watching her children play sports.

Darcy Knight, Vice President

Trustee Area 1

Darcy Knight brings 24 years of school board experience and 33 years as a high school guidance counselor to her role as Trustee. Driven by a lifelong commitment to student success, Darcy actively served on site committees and budget advisory groups before joining the board. A dedicated foothill resident, she prioritizes meeting the needs of all Black Oak Mine students and cherishes spending time with her family and grandsons.

Crystal Miller

Trustee Area 2

Crystal Miller brings 6 years of school board experience and a background in the mortgage industry to her role as Trustee. Committed to creating safe, option-rich schools, Crystal prioritizes active engagement with community members to foster school improvements. An active local leader serving on multiple community boards, Crystal enjoys spending free time outdoor camping, jeeping, boating, and playing softball with her family.
