The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) is a state initiative designed to provide free or low-cost academic, social-emotional, and enrichment programming for elementary and middle school students (TK–6). Operating before and after school, as well as during summer and intersession breaks, ELOP focuses on active learning, homework support, STEAM activities, physical well-being, and social-emotional development. By partnering with standard school hours to ensure access to a full nine-hour day of care and learning, the program helps build safe, supportive, and engaging environments for students outside the regular classroom.
