What is SUN Bucks?

SUN Bucks (Summer EBT) is a new program providing eligible families in California with $120 per child to buy groceries during the summer when school is out.

Who is Eligible?

• Children approved for free or reduced-price meals at school
• Children in households receiving CalFresh, CalWORKs, or Medi-Cal
• Some foster youth and migrant children

How Does It Work?

Eligible families receive a SUN Bucks EBT card in the mail loaded with funds. The card can be used at grocery stores and farmers markets just like a debit card.

When Will I Get It?

Cards will be mailed between June and August 2025. No application is needed for most families.
