TDAP

Immunization Requirements for 7th through 12th Grade Students for the 2018-19 School Year

Whooping cough, also known as pertussis, continues to threaten students in California. To help stop its spread, all incoming 7th- through 12th grade students are required by law to have proof of a whooping cough booster (‘Tdap’) shot in order to attend classes this year. Students will not be allowed to attend classes without a shot record.

For important information on the new law, go to www.shotsforschool.org/7th-grade/

If your child is 10 years old or older and has not yet received the Tdap booster shot, please contact your doctor or the health department (621-6100) for an appointment as soon as possible.  Be sure to bring in the updated immunization record to the school office, so a copy can be made and your child cleared of this requirement.

If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school.
