Student Services

The Black Oak Mine Unified School District provides for the needs of students identified for Special Education services in cooperation with the El Dorado County Special Education Local Planning Area, and aligned to IDEA Federal Law. 
 
  • Referrals for special education may come from a parent, teacher, student, or other knowledgeable person.  Referrals are submitted to the student’s teacher, principal or front office staff.  
  • Special education services and supports are offered through two models, a Learning Center model and Self Contained Classroom model.  Each BOMUSD campus supports both models.  Currently the Tk-3 Self Contained classroom is located at Northside Elementary and 4-6 grade Self Contained classroom is located at Georgetown Elementary.  
  • A range of services are available at all sites, including but not limited to: 
    • Psychological Services
    • Speech and Language
    • Occupational Therapy
    • Behavior Intervention Supports 
    • Counseling and Guidance
