State Budget Crisis - Impact on District Budget
As many are aware, the state budget crisis has had a significant impact on the district finances. We have brought in a consultant from the County Office of Education to provide advice to our district Budget Advisory Committee and to the Board of Trustees. Information is continuing to evolve as the state budget circumstances change and as the Budget Advisory Committeen works to provide recommendations to the district Board of Trustees.
To keep track of the work being done by the Budget Advisory Committee and the Board of Trustees, please check back often. We will include background information, supporting documents, meeting dates, and next steps on this website.

Who is the Budget Advisory Committee?
Representatives include one representative from School site Councils for each school and one parent at-large from each school. Representatives also include community and business leaders, district administration, classified staff representatives, and union leadership. While there are official voting members, this is a public meeting and all who are interested are invited to attend.
When does the Budget Advisory Committee Meet?
The Budget Advisory Committee normally meets monthly on Wednesday afternoons at 3:45 P.M. in the Board Room at the District Office.
How can I get involved? How can I provide input?
There are numerous ways for parents, staff, teachers and community members to get involved. 1) Attend the Budget Advisory Committee meetings. If you can't attend, agendas and minutes can be sent to you. Participate in your school's school site council meetings - discussions are occuring at the school level. Attend the meetings of the Board of Trustees. 2) Review the spreadsheet of BAC recommendations - check back often as it will be updated frequently over the next couple of months. If clarification is needed, please contact the principal at your school, or Linda Jordan - Chief Business Official. She can be e-mailed at ljordan@bomusd.org or called at the district office.
