Operation Medicine Cabinet comes to the Georgetown Divide

On Saturday, April 17, Drug Free Divide (DFD) presented their first Town Hall meeting, Operation Medicine Cabinet (O:MC).

O:MC took place at the Greenwood Community Center thanks to DFD’s partnership with the Georgetown Divide Recreation Department. The event was attended by 41 people and included several adult speakers, a youth panel from our community, and a discussion around the problems with illegal use of prescription drugs both locally and around the nation.

There was also a drop of for expired or no longer needed prescriptions and over the counter drugs (OTC) as a “spring cleaning” of our Divide medicine cabinets.  According to Officer Michael Seligshon, one the speakers for the afternoon, over 32 pounds of Rx drugs were collected and disposed of by the sheriff’s office.
